Product information Ceramic exhaust wrap
This type of ceramic exhaust wrap is made from a special yarn consisting of a glass core with a ceramic wool coating. Due to the high ceramic fiber content of approximately 50%, these wraps provide better insulation than standard fiberglass tapes while maintaining good mechanical strength. This yarn is also used for manufacturing other insulation products, such as fabrics, sleeves, or ropes in various sizes.
Ceramic fibers have a significantly lower thermal conductivity (0.10 - 0.25 W/(m·K) at 500°C) compared to E-glass (1.0 - 1.2 W/(m·K) at 500°C). This means that ceramic fibers provide much better insulation at high temperatures, making them more suitable for extreme heat-resistant applications.
Important: Ceramic fiber contains about 15% organic fiber. When the fibers are heated, the organic fiber in the product can gradually turn black as the temperature rises, smoke will be generated. This is a normal phenomenon and does not affect the use. As the temperature continues to rise, the product will gradually turn white again and the smoke will disappear.
Good ventilation is necessary when using this wrap.
Applications:
Ceramic fiber tape is used for insulating covers or shields, wrapping cables or pipes, expansion joints, seals or gaskets for high temperatures. Ceramic fiber tape is used in the following sectors:
Welding
Aluminum and steel mills
Boiler insulation and sealing
Exhaust systems
Shipyards
Refineries
Power plants
Chemical factories
