During this restoration, little remained of the original felt under the headliner. Before the headliner was re-covered, it was decided to install insulation, and to use a better quality than the original for extra comfort.

Additionally, there was a desire to eliminate the tinny sound from the doors and, with the added weight of the anti-drumming material, to ensure a more solid closing sound for the doors.

For this project, we chose two Absor-B products.

  • 2.3 mm anti-drumming sheets for both doors and under the roof, totaling 2 m².
  • Roller for proper installation of the sheets

Absor-B anti-drumming material remains flexible in all weather conditions (hot or cold, wet or dry). This allows it to absorb resonances much better than, for example, bitumen damping materials, which harden and therefore barely absorb vibrations. Due to its flexible composition, it is ideally suited for uneven surfaces.

Installation with a roller provides much more ease of installation and guarantees that the product fully adheres to the surface, preventing trapped air (risk of rust due to condensation).
