About Absor-B

Absor-B is a brand of sound deadening material: heavy, visco-elastic anti-drumming sheets that absorb vibrations and resonances in thin metal or plastic panels. By adding mass to panel parts, it reduces noise in vehicles, campers, classic cars and machinery, and the extra weight in doors, for example, also gives them a nicer, more solid close.

Easy installation

The sheets have a self-adhesive back with a strong adhesive layer, making them easy to install, even on complex shapes or uneven surfaces. Full coverage is not always necessary: with 60% coverage or more, an optimal result is often already achieved. Use an application roller for good adhesion; you will find one in the sound deadening sheets collection.

From the field

During the restoration of a 1968 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia coupé we fitted 2.3 mm Absor-B anti-drumming sheets in both doors and under the roof, to remove the tinny sound from the doors. For the Volkswagen T2B "Green Westy" we used three Absor-B products: 2 mm sheets for the doors and roof, 4 mm sheets for the floor and wheel arches, and PPE foam mats against heat. Absor-B at Heat Shieldings

In this collection you will find the self-adhesive Absor-B anti-drumming sheet of 2.3 mm (2 m² per pack). How to choose and apply sound deadening material is explained in The ultimate guide to sound and vibration damping.

Frequently asked questions

Why Absor-B instead of bitumen?

Absor-B deadening material stays flexible in all weather conditions, hot or cold, damp or dry. As a result, it absorbs resonances many times better than bitumen damping materials, which harden and thereby lose their vibration-absorbing effect. The flexible composition also makes the sheets suitable for irregular and complex surfaces.
