About Stove rope on a roll - flat
Flat stove rope on a roll is a self-adhesive, heat-resistant sealing tape for the stove glass and flat door seams. Peel off the liner, press on, close the door: that is all the fitting there is.
Applications of flat rope
The flat shape gives a wide, even seal: ideal for stove glass, stove and fireplace doors, oven doors, inspection hatches and fire-resistant applications. It also seals seams and gaps in flue gas systems neatly. For the groove of the door itself use round rope; short 2.5 m lengths are in the flat repair kits.
Frequently asked questions
How do I fit self-adhesive flat stove rope?
Remove the old rope, brush and degrease the surface, peel off the liner and press the rope on evenly without stretching it, especially in the corners. The guide shows it step by step.
Which width and thickness do I need?
Measure the old rope or the seam; sizes run from 5 x 2 mm to 30 x 4 mm. Choose the width equal to the seam and the thickness slightly larger, so the rope seals under light pressure. This is how you measure.
Does the adhesive layer withstand the stove heat?
The adhesive layer is a fitting aid that keeps the rope in place until the door closes; after that the clamping takes over. The rope itself withstands up to 550 °C, HD versions up to 1100 °C. The layer is free of solvents and halogens.
