About Fiberglass cord adhesive

Heat-resistant adhesive fixes fiberglass and stove rope in the groove of a door or glass panel. The adhesives in this collection are inorganic: they do not burn, produce no smoke when overheated and bond insulation materials to metal and to each other.

Applications of the adhesive

The main application is glueing round and square rope into stove and oven doors. The adhesive also bonds insulation materials in ovens and boilers, refractory linings in industrial installations and materials in flue gas systems. The adhesives are ready to use; the viscosity can be adjusted with fillers or by thinning with water. Note: flat rope is self-adhesive and needs no glue.

Frequently asked questions

How do I apply stove rope adhesive?

Degrease the groove, apply a thin line of adhesive of about a quarter of the rope thickness and press the rope in without stretching or twisting. Let the adhesive dry as instructed on the packaging. The replacement guide shows every step.

Up to what temperature is the adhesive resistant?

The Gluecon® adhesive and the HS1100 stove adhesive withstand up to 1100 °C, the Insulmould® fibre paste up to 1260 °C.

When should I choose the fibre paste instead of adhesive?

The Insulmould® fibre paste is both adhesive and filler: it fills irregular seams and gaps and cures into a refractory seal up to 1260 °C. For simply fixing rope into a clean groove, the adhesive is sufficient.
