About Insulation blankets

Insulation blankets are flexible, lightweight mats for lining hot installations and constructions. From thin silica aerogel blanket to Insulfrax LTX for 1200 °C: this is the heaviest thermal insulation in our range.

Applications

Insulation blankets line industrial ovens and furnaces, exhaust systems and chimneys, process equipment and high-temperature piping, and serve as fire-resistant lining of equipment in the steel, glass and petrochemical industries, among others. The blankets withstand thermal shocks and give off no smoke or harmful emissions. What makes aerogel so special and when to choose it is explained in our aerogel guide.

Frequently asked questions

What is a silica aerogel blanket?

A blanket of silica fibres impregnated with aerogel, one of the best insulating materials in existence. A thin layer of 3 to 10 mm therefore already delivers a very high insulation value, ideal where space is tight; read here how that works.

Up to what temperature are the blankets resistant?

The Insulfrax LTX blankets up to 1200 °C, the stitched silica blanket up to 1000 °C and the aerogel and needle felt blankets up to 800 and 200 °C respectively. The class is listed on every product.

Which thickness should I choose?

The thicker the blanket, the greater the insulating power: choose 3 to 10 mm aerogel where space is tight, and 25 or 50 mm Insulfrax where maximum thermal protection is needed.
