Fiberglass cord round

For most wood and pellet stoves fiberglass up to 550 °C is sufficient. If the door or duct gets hotter, choose knitted E-glass up to 800 °C or basalt fibre up to 1100 °C. The class is stated in every product title.

Measure the groove or the old rope, preferably with callipers and without compressing the rope, and choose the new rope about 2 mm thicker than the groove measurement. This guide shows it step by step.

Pull the old rope out, remove glue residue with a wire brush, degrease the groove, apply a thin line of heat-resistant adhesive and press the new rope in without stretching or twisting. See the full procedure.
