About Heat shields
A heat shield forms a fixed barrier between a heat source and the sensitive parts next to it: cables, pipes, electronics or plastic parts. This collection holds aluminium shields, the double-layer Pro Shield and exhaust shields, universal and OEM.
Light, formable and effective
Aluminium is light, corrosion-resistant and easy to cut and bend to size, so the shield follows the shape of the vehicle or machine. It protects bonnets, bulkheads and enclosures without notable extra weight, and the EN 1050 shield also damps sound. For flexible protection around pipes see the reflective sleeves; self-adhesive shields and foils are in reflective foil. A creative example: a heat shield above the patio heater.
Frequently asked questions
Up to what temperature is a heat shield resistant?
Contact heat up to 650 °C and radiant heat up to 950 °C, depending on the product: from EN 1050 aluminium heat and sound shields and the double-layer Pro Shield to the universal titanium exhaust shield and OEM shields such as for the DAF XF106.
How do I fit a universal exhaust heat shield?
With stainless steel multi-lock ties around the silencer or pipe; the DEI fitting tool pulls the ties tight easily. Watch the fitting video.
Can I make the shield to size?
Yes, the aluminium shields can be cut and bent with ordinary tools. Fully custom-made solutions are supplied via custom work.
