About Stove Rope Round - Repair Kits

With a repair kit you replace the round rope of your stove door in one go: 2.5 m of premium stove rope in the right diameter, ready to fit. No leftover roll, no falling short.

How the repair works

First measure the groove or the old rope with callipers and choose the kit about 2 mm thicker than the groove measurement; this guide helps with measuring. Then pull the old rope out, brush and degrease the groove, apply a thin line of stove adhesive and roll the new rope in without stretching. Finish the ends with end tape. The step-by-step guide shows every action. Longer lengths are in round rope on rolls, flat self-adhesive kits in the flat repair kits.

Frequently asked questions

Is 2.5 metres enough for my stove door?

Measure the circumference of the door groove; for most wood and pellet stoves it is well within 2.5 m. If you need more, choose rope on a roll in the same quality.

Which diameter should I choose?

Measure the old rope or the groove width with callipers, without compressing the rope, and choose the kit about 2 mm thicker than the groove measurement, so the rope seals well after compression.

Why premium rope in the kits?

The knitted E-glass rope withstands up to 800 °C and keeps its resilience longer than standard rope: exactly what you want for a door that opens and closes daily during the heating season.
