About Heat-resistant fabrics

Heat-resistant fabrics are technical textiles that withstand flames, sparks and contact heat. This collection holds fiberglass fabric with silicone coating and CARBOMAT carbon fibre felt, per sheet of for example 100 x 100 cm.

Applications and coatings

Heat-resistant fabrics are used as welding blanket and spark protection, heat-resistant curtain, insulation wrap and seal, in industry (metal, welding, petrochemistry), aerospace and fire protection. The silicone coating gives the fiberglass fabric extra thermal stability, flexibility and protection against chemical and abrasive influences; double-sided coated fabric is protected on both sides. The carbon fibre felt catches sparks and spatter during welding and grinding. Cover larger insulation jobs with insulation blankets up to 1200 °C; custom-cut heat-resistant materials are arranged via custom work.

Frequently asked questions

Up to what temperature are heat-resistant fabrics resistant?

Up to 250 °C contact and radiant heat, both the fiberglass fabrics with silicone coating and the CARBOMAT carbon fibre felt.

What material are the fabrics made of?

Fiberglass fabric with single or double-sided silicone coating (red or grey) and CARBOMAT carbon fibre felt of 5 mm, per sheet of for example 100 x 100 cm.

When do I choose single or double-sided coating?

Single-sided coated fabric is sufficient when one side is exposed, for example as shielding against radiation. If the fabric is exposed on both sides or rubs against parts, choose the double-sided coating.
